Obviously things can change, but for now it looks like it may be available one day.

Pin 6 Confirmed
I can confirm that the suggestion that pin 6 and the white logo pin are the same is true. A member of LOCOG has confirmed that the pin exists and is number 6 but - and here's the best news - whilst it is not on sale now, it may be on retail sale sometime between now and 2012.

Very exciting news - Do we def. know the colour yet? It looks slightly off white (pale green) in the photo. Although I guess that could be distorition. Do we think white is the colour?
Tom, as far as I know from the answer from LOCOG, the pin is classified as white. Then again, look at pin number one, that's meant to be pink, but we know a purple exists!
