In the end, Mandeville proved to be more successful than Wenlock, but both mascots enjoyed themselves.
A number of people stopped by to ask about London 2012 pins as well as choose their favourite mascot sport or pictogram pins.
We also had the chance to meet an Olympic Gold medallist! A lady approached the pin displays and asked if there were any shooting pins. After showing her the Wenlock sports pin, we found out that she was Chiara Caneiro from Italy who won gold in Beijing at Women's skeet shooting.

Is there somewhere, such as a Honav website, that we can find out about events before they happen rather than hear about them after they've happened?
Anonymous, I should apologise. I thought I had blogged details of this event last week, but I had some technical issues and it looked like I managed to delete the entry as I found it earlier (after I read your comment) in draft rather than published.
To answer your question, no, there is no website from Honav that will advertise these events. If I know about them I will add them to this blog as I have before (and try not to delete them afterwards!).
To be honest, this event was not targeted at collectors and traders. It was about promoting pins to the shoppers in the London 2012 shop in John Lewis. It was about raising awareness of pins as collectables. There were no product launches or any pins that collectors haven't seen before.
The event in John Lewis in January is targeted towards us, and hopefully will be a good use of your Saturday if you're able to make it.
Again apologies for not telling you all about it, I'll try to do better next time.
Paul.
