23/8: Chalk Hills Pins

Even though the Olympic Games have finished, London 2012 have released some more 'British' pins. The latest 5 pins depict chalk carvings on hills.

Pin 1795 - Fovant
Pin 1796 - Osmington Horse
Pin 1797 - Long Man of Wilmington
Pin 1798 - Whipsnade Lion
Pin 1799 - Wye Crown

The pins fit together as a puzzle set and each is limited to 2,012 pieces. They are available now.

Very odd! London 2012 release a set of Olympic pins after the Olympic Games are over, but they won't be able to sell them in their shops since only Paralympic memorabilia can be sold during the Paralympic Games!

Would hardly notice if they didn't stock them as most weren't stocked during the games, I found the pin sections on the park pathetic

Any idea where we can buy these from? Can't find them in any of the usual outlets and they're selling on eBay for silly prices.

in regards to last comment, what do you type in on ebay to find these, as I believe they are now all gone from suppliers
thanks

Raffi, I know Glamorous Living had them.

Does anyone know if and where these can still be bought? Cheers - John

I'm lucky enough to have a set of Chalk Hills pins and, according to the official blurb, they're limited to 2,012. But there can't actually be 2,012 in circulation otherwise where are they all?

The only stockist I've seen advertise them is GL, and apparently they had only 20 sets (I think). So where are the rest?

But then again there are supposed to have been 10000 opening ceremony pins. Just like you can't believe all you read in the papers, it seems you can't believe all you read on a pin card !

Does anyone have any updates/know where this might be available? Seems very elusive for an issue of 2012.

I have a set of the chalk hill pin badges, very lucky to get one. However I am willing to trade for an opening ceremony, day 1 of the games and a day 18 of the games. I will also listen to offers at my email address bradprice14@yahoo.co.uk.
Many thanks
Brad

Isn't that at least £80 worth of pins? I'm not sure the Chalk Hills set is worth that much!

I would say an opening and closing would be sufficient, given that the chalk hill set are limited to 2,012. Hence there is not a single badge on eBay making them effectively rarer than the opening ceremony

I will amend to a trade for an opening and closing. I think that is more than fair. there are only 2,012 chalk hill sets made, compared to 10,000 opening and closing. Also given the fact that there is no sets on eBay represents the rarity of them

It doesn't really represent anything to be honest. I have sold pins on Ebay - where I was the only seller with them. I currently have a couple of different pins that no one else is selling.

They are reasonably low, but it's also that people like the themes of them, and they sell for more than I can get them for.

I'm certain that the Chalk Hills set, whilst appealing to completists, would not appeal to a massive market after that.
