9/5: New McDonalds and Coca-Cola Sets

Thanks to a couple of readers, here are two sets from McDonalds and one from Coca-Cola featuring London 2012.

The first McDonalds set looks like 4 oversized pins spelling '2 0 1 2' and featuring ironing London images in the McDonalds brand colours. It looks like it comes in a branded box too.

The next set from McDonalds is a set of 19 pins, one for each summer and winter games that McDonalds has been a partner of the Olympics since 1976. There is a noticeable gap for Moscow 1980 when many countries boycotted the Games. The 19th pin in the set is the one for London 2012

The set from Coca-Cola is a traditional Coke bottle jigsaw set comprising of what looks like 8 pins. The Coca Cola/London 2012 composite logo is widely used in the set.

This is a set created as a Premia incentives gift by the Coca-Cola bottling subsidiary in the UK to be given away to specific clients and customers.

It is not being offered for sale to the public and should not be confused with the official Coca-Cola Olympic and Paralympic Games retail pins that will be released for sale in the run up to the Games, including the hugely collectible 'Pin of the Day' single pins, and the Limited Edition framed bottle sets of these Pins.

These will be available from the Coca-Cola Pin Trading Centres and on-line only.

Please don't contact Coca-Cola for one of these sets as they are not being distributed to collectors.

gzh, do you have access to order from this online store?

gzh said...

It requires a London address. It will not take a USA address (zipcode). I do not have access. May be someone in London can get the pins so that you can get the information about the pins.

I've ordered a set. It says that Cisco will ring me to arrange payment details.

wookie said...

It also says all orders will be sent by inter-office mail so it looks like only Cisco employees can buy them :(

Well Wookie old chap, it could be your chance to start a new career working for Cisco. Maybe ? Maybe Not !

My son is a Cisco qualified engineer and knows a few guys who work there, so fingers crossed!

For those of you that don't mind paying for sponsor pins you can order the Kellogg's pins from their site and you don't have to be an employee!
Same price as the Cisco ones. Its not for me but may be of interest to others.

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how to obtain either of the Coca Cola or McDonalds sets? From the above it looks like they are going to be US only. I have a couple of colleagues on that side of the pond that can help purchase.

Is this the days of the games Coke bottle? In which case it is a few pieces missing :)
For those that don't know, Coca-Cola issue one pin each day, starting with the opening ceremony and at the end of the games they all fit together to make a bottle. They are one of the most sought-after sets of the games.

Seems a bit early for Coca-Cola to have a bottle set out but maybe someone at Honav can enlighten us!

wookie, the coke pin of the day bottle is still under wraps til the games begin. but it'll be worth the wait!! :)

I'm sure it will :)
I love the coke bottle puzzles

So ....for those of us who have not been doing this for years ... Are you saying there will be a new Coke pin every day during the Games? Where would they be available from then? THANKS

Sleathy said...

Please would someone post a link to the Kelloggs pins - I could not find them ... THANKS

Anthony said...

Sleathy, Coke traditionally do a 'pin of the day' which when put together form a puzzle of their iconic bottle.

i'm assuming the pins will be available daily from the two coke pintrading centres in hyde park and the olympic park

normally, they also put up for sale a framed version of the complete set

wookie said...

Sleathy I think that the kelloggs pins can only be bought by somebody in the US. Shipping options only show USA and US dependencies like Guam

Do you have a link to the Kelloggs ones? I'll see whether one of my US colleagues can do the honors for me.

www.kelloggstore.com is the address for the pins. I think we could negotiate over shipping to UK

Bill (never anonymousky) said...

You also need a US-registered credit card for the Kelloggs pins.

I'm amazed to see the framed Coke bottle set on eBay already - and it's not even from China!

People must be wary of this pin set as it never sold and had no bids.
