24/7: Opening Ceremony Pin

By now, most of you will have seen the Opening Ceremony pin appear, disappear and then reappear at an online store.

Pin 1992

This pin is limited to 10,000 pieces.

Am somewhat disappointed that there do not appear to be any plans to give these to the 10,000 volunteer performers in the opening ceremony - who have given a lot of time over a number of months, in very bad weather conditions, to rehearse what will be a great show. All they have had so far is a tshirt and an awful lot of somewhst tasteless Nature Valley bars!

I do believe you WILL get something for your trouble. Something to PIN to your T SHIRTS.

Its a bit like the Games Makers yes you will have something to PIN to your GM Bags too. (as Locog would rather you did not attach anything to your Uniform or Landyard.

Anyway for the General ipening pin, 10 000 is not a lot when you think that everyone going will want one.

Correction.."This pin is limited to 10,000 pieces" should read "9,999 pieces", as one of them now belongs to me! :)

Make that 9998, as one now resides in my collection too.

T'is a lovely pin, one of the best i've seen so far.

Got mine too but not sure it's worth the £12 price when comparing to some of the other pricier ones. Glad I've got one though to add to my collection.

Hi Tiff follow the links at the top of the webpage it gives you the links to retailers. They are available online. Seen tonight in a couple of them.

I was greedy and got two. And I was left spellbound by the final dress rehearsal of the opening ceremony on Wed night. :)

I agree it was amazing...can't wait to watch it on TV.

Well done to all the cast for their hard work and dedication to put on such an amazing show.

Yes Wednesday dress rehearsal was good.... some great bits and some amazing bits and some ..... well I will let you decide on friday.

No spoilers, but on Wednesday the Queen did look a little under dressed and rather Chinese. = )

It was fantastic and was much better than I thought it was going to be. Typically British and after all it is our games so it can be. The ending of the torch was outstanding so unique and looked spectacular.. In the stadium it must of been so surreal. Well done to all the volunteers you did an amazing job as did everyone who was involved from beginning to end.

I was in the cast and would've loved to have one of these to remember it all by, but by time I knew about them they were all sold out and way out of my price league on ebay :( Would've been nice to have one for being in the cast, they should've made enough for us all! So if anyone is feeling chairtable and has a spare they'd like ot sell to a broke cast member, then feel free to message me?! :)

I was in the ast and yes we get a Gmaesmaker pin and this was something that I would treasure. But again profit comes over in abundance as greedy people sell on what they bought at £12 for double or triple the privce. I ahve seen in on ebay for £40 already today wht a joke. the money made out of the games to peopel ranketering for personal gain. Totally against the gammes effics. A real shame. But then if the ast are sellingon stuff trying to claim £5000 ofr costume then our arguement about a badge defeated ain't it? What you get for nothing and free as a gift you should treasure. You only need one why buy 2? If you get free then you should give something free not take double or profit. but that is where most are differnt to me. apologise if words mis-spelt but I cna't see what I am typing or to corredect it either oooppppsss

Pre-ordere from USA stores in box sets to what isn't released here. By the time MAericans come here they sell them on, not good as it appears. I may stand to be corrected?

Jo R - I have a spare opening ceremony badge which I'd happily sell to you for £12 - I bought a spare for a friend however they already had it. Also, I have all the london boroughs on individual cards if anyone would be interested (again only for the price I paid), I was lucky enough to be given the framed version for Christmas so I don't need both

Can anyone sell me the opening ceremony badge for the normal price?

Does anyone have a open ceremony pin badge that I can trade with a closing ceremony pin badge? I brought two for me and my brother, but my brother has already obtained one. No point in having two and may as well let someone else obtain one rather than letting it go to waste? If anyone has a opening ceremony pin spare let me know

Hi - does anyone have an Olympic opening ceremony pin that they would swap for either and opening or closing paralympic pin? Please email pins@xtremevortex.co.uk. Many thanks guys.

They were up for sale again at the 2012 shop for £5 each. And you could get any three pins for £10. Managed to pick up a few finally myself. Just proves you don't have to pay really stupid prices on eBay.

Could anyone have a spare olympic opening ceremony pin up for swap.
I was performing at it and really want to have one

If anybody at all has a spare opening ceremony pin badge I would be so grateful if they could either sell to me or trade for a complete set of the rare chalk hill pin set. my son performed at the event and to his dismay we have never managed to get one, and we cant afford to pay stupid money on ebay.
my email is bradprice14@yahoo.co.uk

Brad

I am currently selling a large selection of pins for a friend who has incurred hard financial times during these difficult Covid days. Many are already on EBAY under seller "dreamofdubai" but email me if you have anything specific you are looking for - nigelkirby@icloud.com
