Today we had our final pin meet (our 10th) before the opening of the Olympic Games. As usual, it was great to see so many friends for a trading session. Coca-Cola allowed us to take over most of the tables in the Hyde Park pin trading centre today and we rotated in shifts so that everyone who wanted a table had a chance.
Being in the Coke centre meant that there were lots more members of the public coming through and a number of trades were made with new faces who had pins to trade.
A number of international media were there with interest from Japan, China and New Zealand. A few collectors spoke to them and were filmed for news features.

On a different note ..... London2012 is showing the Opening Ceremony Pin for sale!!!
with a DO NOT PUT ONLINE UNTIL the 26th note ..... £5 postage is very steep!
Sleathy the glam stars have it online tonight too.
Thought I check this site before going to bed and read this. Of course I then had to go ahead and order the pin. I wonder if London2012 will realise there's a mistake, or if their warehouse will despatch it to me on Monday morning, by mistake!
Has this pin not been selling on E-bay for a few weeks?
Apparently, due to the premature notification on the 2012 site, they have decided let the Opening Ceremony pin go on sale generally. Hence the appearance on Glam's website and probably others too.
There is a strong likelihood that many of the pins on sale on eBay are probably legit but remember that many places are selling the pin for £12 inc postage.
D'oh! Found it after much detective work .....
I'm just wondering which orchestra I was conducting when the photo was taken - I don't *think* that I was telling miss happy to clear off in that direction :)
Our trip to Coke Hyde Park on Saturday was so enriched when we had a visitation from Brother John from Pin Heaven. Missing from our last Pin meet his Radiance did add to the the grandure of the occaision. It was nice to see so many new faces... Miss Happy popped in for a quick look and introduced herself to the london Pin Gang. On the whole Pin trading was good, Wookie did his bit for East - West relations.....and I think we all got to trade with our America Cousins who came along also. I myself made a Chinese Girl very Happy with my 2012 Welsh Dragon I traded with her. (2012 Year of the Dragon remember !) Most of us became TV stars.... but for which country or countries I am still a little bit unsure. But I don't think we will be seeing any of the footage on UK TV. Crimewatch maybe ! If able to... do pop down to Hyde Park Pin Trading.... Lots to see, and lots to buy from the Coke Site and 2012 Shop..... and when you do, WHO knows you may get to see some of us too. Ps Thanks to Sam and all the Coke Staff who do a great job running the Trading Centre.
I hope that your Pin Show was a roaring success and that you all will enjoy the upcoming Games and all the
aspects of them. I am just wondering why no one has bothered to mention the Pin Show itself except for Noel?
Happy pin trading.

Famous for 5 mins in Hong Kong. Does that mean we can now say, " DID YOU SPOT THE WOOKIE ON TELLY" ?
